How to Turn Leftover Halloween Candy into Weed Edibles

From gummies to chocolate, Mother shares her favorite ways to infuse cannabis into leftover Halloween candy. Childish? Sure. Delicious? Hell yeah.

I'm about to have a ton of leftover Halloween candy and while I have no problem eating it as is, is there anything "special" I can do to it to turn my sugar stash into edibles?

Dear CC,

While I wish I had a wand I could wave over regular candy that would turn it into canna-candy, that's sadly not possible. However, with some kitchen magic and a little bit of effort, we can certainly take your leftover Halloween candy and create some new, delicious, cannabis-infused edibles for you to enjoy! I've split the usual candy suspects into three categories: chocolate (your Hershey bars, Snickers, Milky Ways, etc…), gummies (sour patch kids, gummy bears, etc…), and your general candy (pixie sticks, Jolly Ranchers, lollipops, etc.).


When it comes to leftover chocolate, the sky's the limit! There are many delicious cannabis edibles you can make with chocolate. Some easy recipe hacks include making your favorite batch of cannabis brownies and simply chopping up some leftover bite size chocolate bars to swirls into the batter before you bake it. The candy will create some extra pizazz that will beautifully complement the cannabutter in the brownies.

Cannabis Chocolate Hand Pies



  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Roll out the pie crust
  3. Grab a round cookie cutter and cut out circles, placing them on a parchment lined cookie sheet
  4. Place about a tablespoon of chopped candy bar on one side of each pie dough
  5. Fold the dough over the candy and crimp the edges with fingers or fork
  6. Place on prepared baking sheet
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown
  8. Once cool, you can jazz them up by drizzling some melted chocolate over each hand pie


There are lots of good uses for leftover gummy candies besides just munching on them until they're all gone (my preferred method!), especially if you want to crank it up and add some cannabis. For all of the following recipes, note the cannabis substitutions so you can ensure some highly delightful edibles!

Gummy Bear Layer Cake: This awesome recipe combines cake and gummies, guaranteed to put you into a sugar coma! The canna-trick here is to use cannabutter for ½ of the butter called for in the frosting of the cake.

Chocolate Dipped Gummy Bears: These might possibly be some of my most favorite candies in the world. You get both chewy fruity deliciousness and chocolate. YUM! Substitute cannabutter for all of the butter in this recipe.

Gummy Bear Cookies: This recipes swirls your delicious gummies into straight up sugar cookies for a pretty masterful matchup. Make these cookies even better by using ½ regular butter and ½ cannabutter!


Want a quick ticket to cannabis candy land? Grab your favorite fresh bread, spread some cannabutter on it, and then sprinkle some pixie stick powder all over it. Childish? Sure. Delicious? Hell yeah.

But if you're up for a bit more cooking, why not turn all those leftover lollipops and Jolly Ranchers into some delectable medicated morsels?

Canna Candy Bites



  1. Chop up your candy as small as possible. You can even try grinding it in a coffee grinder.
  2. Mix your crushed candy and water into a pot on a stove. Bring the mixture up to 300 degrees using candy thermometer to check.
  3. Once 300 degrees is reached, take off heat and stir in as much tincture as you want (remember, you can always add more, but you can't take any back!)
  4. If you're using them, pour the mixture into candy molds — or you can pour it out onto a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper — and let harden.
