With Spring now officially upon us, it means the most important week of the year is drawing ever closer: Spring Break!

The week in which legions across the country traditionally blow off steam by cramming in all of the partying they’ve missed out on over the frigid months of winter (unless you live in South Florida full time) is bound to be even crazier this year . At least, that is if you happen to be one of the lucky travelers visiting any of the green-friendly destinations here in America. Luckily, we have a few more states to add to the list this year.

Our nation’s capital and the eight states that have legalized recreational marijuana (Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington) will be prime destinations for those looking to smoke up with a little less paranoia than people living elsewhere (such as this particular area in New York).

But just because weed is legal in these states, it doesn’t mean it’s just a cannabis free-for-all. There could be varying restrictions between the different states, including how many ounces of green you can carry. Don’t assume the police are going to be sympathetic if you’re holding 2.5 ounces of recreational weed in a state that only legally allows an ounce.

To assist you, MERRY JANE News has pieced together a playbook for enjoying a cannabis-filled Spring Break while also ensuring you make it back to your day job/ school without getting arrested.
